The Mail Back Silver Recovery System is specifically designed for smaller dental labs that run less than 15 gallons of fixer per year. Further, the steel wool located inside the unit (what attracts the silver ions) must be replaced at least once a year. In order to stay in compliance with the 5ppm discharge (most ordinances), the Mail Back Silver Recovery System should be replaced either after filtering 100 gallons or once a year, whichever of the two comes first.
